At the 2001 Meeting of SCCR, the Executive Committee voted to establish student paper awards to honor the memory of Dr. Leigh Minturn, who was killed in the 1999 Egypt Air Flight 990 crash. Two prizes of $200.00 each will be awarded to student authors. One award will be given for the best Graduate Student Paper and the other for the best Undergraduate Student Paper presented at the annual meetings.

In addition, two $50 prizes will be awarded to the best Student Posters, one to a graduate student and another to an undergradute student.

Students must be in attendance in New Orleans to receive a prize. Papers authored by students, without faculty co-authors, are eligible for submission.

Students should indicate in an e-mail to sccr2008@selu.edu (by December 31, 2007) that they wish to be considered for an award.
